Circling-Facilitation Group Coaching
For Coaches, Therapists, & Other Facilitators
“This was, for me, such an incredible and valuable experience. I really appreciated Josh’s incisive attunement, and also the opportunity to circle with others … and grow as a result of their perceptiveness. I [now] have more space to be myself – with myself and others, and to offer something similar when Circling – a slow, deeply attentive presence.”

This unique type of group “field” coaching is for coaches, therapists, and other facilitators who have trained in the practice of Circling (even if you don’t use it specifically).
I give you in-the-moment feedback and support in the specific places you tend to get stuck, bored, lose confidence, or just work harder than you need to, as it’s happening.
Whether you:
-
- are newly trained and trying to find your groove,
- have lost “that loving feeling” (woah woa-oh 🎵),
- occasionally get stuck with particular clients or situations,
- or want to take your facilitation to the next level (“RAWWHHW!” 🐥)
, I think I can help you.
( To be eligible, you need to have completed a formal Circling training or possess equivalent competency in leading a ‘birthday’ or ‘focus’ style Circle. )
Specific capacities I’m training you in:
-
- Presence & attunement with clients (& yourself)
- Trusting and fully welcoming clients as they are
- Getting ‘right’ with your own experience
- Revealing your experience to clients (AKA “safe & effective use of self”)
- Getting into flow and trusting your intuition
“Exactly what I was looking for. I walked away with stronger circling and facilitation skills. I learned an enormous amount about myself as well. I was able to work through multiple blocks that hinder my ability to show up as a strong facilitator.”

- Nervousness, fear, anxiety, low-level nervous-system activation
-
- Making it harder to be present with self and client(s)
-
- Feeling removed from clients
- Feel like they’re wearing a mask
-
- Managing how they’re seen to be liked, approved of, etc
- Feeling awkward or anxious inside, but controlled on outside
-
- Bored & uninspired
The program will consist of individual training Circles, group exercises, and partner practice between sessions to develop key skills and hone your self congruence.
How training Circles work: you Circle someone in the group, and along the way we call “time-out” to take a closer look at those “stuck” places, where I offer support and feedback.
While I may occasionally offer specific techniques, the majority of our work will be looking at the “inner game” of your facilitation. Ie. what’s getting in the way, within you, of your natural gifts and capacities coming online and doing their thang 💃🏋🏿♂️.
For more on how I do this, check out this 11 min overview (& walk through the woods with me 🌲🌳):
There will be eight 2.5 hours sessions (including breaks). Dates TBA.
“Josh has a certain mastery at training others to Circle and a knack for noticing very subtle dynamics, especially when someone might be holding back or something might be slightly incongruent ¬… He points to it in a way that is non-threatening.”

“This was, for me, such an incredible and valuable experience. I really appreciated Josh’s incisive attunement, and also the opportunity to circle with others in the program and get to know them and grow as a result of their perceptiveness. As a result of this program, I have more space to be myself – with myself and others, and to offer something similar when Circling – a slow, deeply attentive presence. I highly recommend doing this program with Josh.”

“I am very happy with the course. Exactly what I was looking for. I walked away with stronger circling and facilitation skills. I learned an enormous amount about myself as well. I was able to work through multiple blocks that hinder my ability to show up as a strong facilitator.
It was so valuable to lean into my edge with revealing myself and practice sharing my experience, even though I was scared it could negatively impact someone. I got how my honest experience as a facilitator matters. It’s the magic of the practice. Now I feel more confident and have more courage to reveal my experience.
If you want to strengthen your facilitation skills, Josh is masterful at circling and creates a very safe container to practice. I wish I could continue the program forever!”

“I feel a lot of gratitude for this experience and for Josh’s facilitation. Josh has a certain mastery at training others to Circle and a knack for noticing very subtle dynamics, especially when someone might be holding back or something might be slightly incongruent¬—both within the individual and the group. He points to it in a way that is non-threatening.
I appreciate his embodied way of teaching—both in terms of leading from his own very rich somatic experience, but also in terms of revealing and walking his circling talk. I really liked how Josh made sure everyone had a voice and often if a question was posed, he asked if anyone else had thoughts or experiences around it before answering it himself. I could consistently feel his care.
It felt like a really safe space to push edges and to explore new terrain and be held lovingly. I really appreciated Josh’s astute awareness of and pointing to subtleties of each person’s process, both within the circle and without. I learned so much both when I was in the driver’s seat as well as when others were.
Overall, I experience Josh as highly skilled, warm-hearted and full of integrity as a course leader and human being. It was a great, safe space to explore deeper aspects of Circling facilitation, push edges and allow your shit to come up to help transform it. It was a great learning experience, both as a place to bring questions and especially for experiential learning.”
